On December 26, 2004 a school girl from England named Tilly Smith was on a vacation. They were visiting the coast of Thailand. It was a bright and sunny day, and Tillie's family was on the beach. All the sudden the water seemed odd. The water looked like it was sizzling in a frying pan. The waves came in but they didn't go back to the ocean. A Tsunami was coming.
Did you know the word disaster comes from Latin and Greek words for stars? Astrum is the Latin way to say it. Astron is the way to say disaster in Greek. A Tsunami is one kind of disaster. Other kinds of disasters are earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides and avalanches.
The way to stay safe in an earthquake is to take cover under a table, stay away from heavy objects that could topple over such as bookcases and refridgerators. If you are outside, get away from buildings and power lines. If you hear a hissing sound or smell gas, leave quickly.
The word volcano comes from Vulcan, the Roman god of fire. Islands are made from volcanoes that started under the ocean.
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.

A Poem
I have stairs
And I like to eat pears.
I'm going fishing on the dock
And I'm watching my clock.
I saw a duck
Swimmin' to a truck.
Whatever you see
It might make you flee
Into the air
Because you're sittin' in a chair.
Do ya think bears
Sit in chairs?
I don't think so
I think I have to go.
And I like to eat pears.
I'm going fishing on the dock
And I'm watching my clock.
I saw a duck
Swimmin' to a truck.
Whatever you see
It might make you flee
Into the air
Because you're sittin' in a chair.
Do ya think bears
Sit in chairs?
I don't think so
I think I have to go.

Stuff
Hello, I am in Hawaii right now but I am just going to say a little bit about Arizona. Firstly I'd like to say that before I moved me and Nathan were having so much fun. On the last day that I saw Nathan we kept on saying "Hello, I am C-3PO~~." We were being so crazy.
I watched a silly Zack and Cody and I want to tell you a little bit about it. There was Madi and London and they were fighting with eachother about the author of a book, and then this guy came and he said "Who wrote the book about the little puppy who lived in a hotel? They are being sued for a million dollars." And the story was "My name is Evona I live in the Tipton, it's a very special hotel. There's Madi and Mosby, there's Zack and there's Cody, and there's London who loves me so well." And the other story that was told when they were gonna be sued was "My name is Rover I live in the Dover. It's a very special hotel." And then Madi said "Eeeuuu" because she thought it was disgusting.
Now it's about Hawaii...Today I went to my new ward. Primary was extremely fun, but class was even more fun. I made a paper airplane during class. Actually after class. I learned about the prodigal son. I'm glad he learned his lesson, and I'm glad his dad threw him a big party and gave him a second chance.

Hawaii is really cool. I hope we can stay here for six years. I have my own kitchen and my own bathroom in my bedroom that I share with only Jacob and Adam. Today I got a backpack for second grade, and a workbook. I am glad that I am on the plane, but somehow I just still wish that I was still on the airplane. There's all this cool music and I got to watch two movies on my dad's IPOD. And you could see things down below, like the clouds. It was so cool, I wish you could see it. I loved that flight. I'm almost ready to get a house. I love my hotel too. Right now I am near the hotel but I'm not in it. I'm in the lobby with my mom.
I had fun on my vacation in California. Here's a picture of me and Buddy at Aunt Terrie's.
Here's a picture of me and Jacob with all the tickets we got at Jeeper's in Phoenix.

Reading Awards
I went to school today. And today was reading awards day and I read like 1,000 books. About half way through my mom stopped writing my books down and sending them in, so on my award it says I read 545 books this year. I read the most books in the whole entire first grade. I read all my Magic Tree House books over and over again, and now I started reading the Harry Potter books. I'm on book 3. The books have more information than the movies, and the books don't have what the movie had sometimes. Because I read one of the Harry Potter books and it said that Harry Potter bought three strawberry ice creams and it doesn't show that in the movie. It's just not fair. I wish the movie had all the stuff from the books. I'm going to read 1 through 7. The end. Good-bye, good-bye.

Campout
Yesterday we went on a campout and came home today. My friend Nathan came with us. First we went to Burger King and we got iron man toys. When we got to the campsite we found sticks and we build pyramids of ancient Egypt, and I built the Sphynx, of course. And we pretended we were big giants and we were destroying Egypt that we made, and we were trying to get the gold. Then we went over to a sand pit and we pretended it was a monster and we pretended the sand was money too, so then we started killing the robot so we could get the money and we didn't want him around anyway. It became night time went to a fire pit and King Moroni talked to us and so did Joseph Smith. But they were just people dressed in costumes that looked like the people but they weren't the people. Moroni said the last line of the Pledge of Allegiance was very important. With liberty and justice for all. He talked to us and then Joseph Smith did and it was on a microphone. He talked about how he translated the Book of Mormon and it is full of important doctirnes. He told us we should make our own Title of Liberty. We went back to the tent and then we made s'moores. I got 2 but I wanted 10. We found a turtle the next day with Brennan and Connor and this other 12 year old boy, I don't know his name. We found some people making a home for him and it was a western box turtle and it couldn't swim. Then we did some activities and came home. The end.

The Week At Home
I had to stay home from school this week, so this is what I did: I played with my light sabor, I talked to my neighbors, I played lego star wars, I helped my mom get yard sale stuff ready, I watched Robin Hood, I jumped on the trampoline, I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I am on page 221. I did other stuff but that's all I want to write.

Pink Eye
I have pink eye. In both eyes. So do both of my brothers. No school for anybody this week. Goodbye.
Night of the Ninjas
This is about Jack and Annie. Annie wanted to go look for the tree house. "Annie," called Jack. Jack dashed after her. "It's back!" called Annie. "Yeah, right," thought Jack. When he got to the tree house, he saw Annie calling him, but she did not see him. Jack climbed up the long, long rope ladder. Jack tapped her on the shoulder. "Hi Jack," said Annie. She found a book that was lying on the floor that was open. She pointed to the picture. She said "I wish we could go there!" The tree house started to spin. It spun faster and faster! Then everything was still, absolutely still. They peeked out of the tree house. They saw ninjas! They lowered their heads. Jack peeked out. One of the ninjas saw him. Both ninjas started running toward the tree house. Jack and Annie pulled up the rope ladder. The ninjas jumped on the tree trunk and started climbing. When they got inside the tree house Annie showed them a letter. The tall ninja took it and read it quickly. He gave it to the short ninja and the short ninja read it quickly. It was from Jack and Annie's friend Morgan. It said, "Help! I am under a spell. Please find four thin..." The short ninja put it in his pocket. They threw down the rope ladder and they all started climbing down. They got to a wild stream. The ninjas stepped in the wild stream. Jack and Annie stepped in there. "Yikes!" they both screamed. The ninjas looked back at them. They came back to Jack and Annie. The short ninja lifted Annie, and the tall ninja lifted Jack on his shoulders and then they walked across the wild stream. When they got to the other side, they let them down. And then they went in the woods. The ninjas walked silently. Jack and Annie made plenty of noise. The ninjas stopped. Then they went into the shadows. Jack and Annie saw torches. When the torches were gone, the ninjas came out of the shadows. They all walked in the shadows. They went into a cave. It was filled with thousands of candles. They saw the ninja master. "Sit," said the ninja master. A mouse squeaked. "Perhaps I can help you find your friend," said the ninja master. They pointed to the short ninja and said "We gave it to him." The ninja master said "You mean, you gave it to her." "Perhaps we have to leave," said the ninja master. They started walking out of the cave. When they got out of the cave the ninja master said "Use nature, be nature, follow nature. Your tree house lies to the east." The tall ninja pointed to some pine woods. Jack and Annie started walking that way. When they got to the wild stream, they found a bridge. It was a log. The only way to get to the other side was to cross the bridge. They saw the torches again. They went to a nearby rock. It was big. "Be a rock," said Annie. "What?" whispered Jack. "Be nature, be a rock" said Annie. Jack closed his eyes and he went very still until the samurai were gone. They crossed the log. They went into the pine woods. They started searching for the tree house. They heard a mouse squeak. They found the tree house and climbed up. They saw a dark figure. It was the ninja master. "You have done well," said the master. "This will help you find your friend Morgan." He held up a moon stone. They pointed to the picture of Frog Creek Woods. They said, "I wish we could go there." The ninja master jumped out of the tree house window. The tree house started to spin. It spun faster and faster. Then everything was still. Absolutely still. They went home. The end. Goodbye!

All About Me
My name is Chandler. I am seven years old. I am excited to have a blog because I want a playlist. I like to read the Magic Tree House series, so sometimes I will post about what happens in those books. I will also write about the things I do, and maybe add some pictures too. I got a digital camera for my birthday, but it broke. So if I can make it work again I will take my own pictures to post here. I got a light sabor for my birthday too. I am moving to Hawaii in July. I am excited for that because there's lots of sand and lots of palm trees. We are going to fly on an airplane to get there. I got a Leapster to play with on the plane, but I can't have it until we get to the plane.
I hope you enjoy my blog and will come read my posts and leave me some comments about the things I will write.
